A useful fit for

For a crawl space or basement whose assessed load fits 35 AHAM pints, where a documented pump/gravity drain plan and remote app status or setting control are useful.

The main tradeoff

App-based pump activation and exact ENERGY STAR certification are not established. Humidity setpoint endpoints conflict between the exact sheet and manual.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the HD35PS WiFi meet a 35-pint AHAM minimum but not 36?

The exact WiFi page and sheet give 35 PPD AHAM; the separate 70-PPD saturation rating does not change that threshold.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does it meet an app-control requirement with a 15-foot pump rise, but not a 20-foot rise?

The WiFi page/manual support app control, and the exact page marks 19.6 feet as the vertical pump maximum.

Does Wi-Fi establish that the app can start or stop the pump?

No. The exact materials establish Wi-Fi/app control but not app-based pump activation, so that essential condition remains unknown.

The AlorAir Sentinel HD35PS WiFi pairs a 35-pint-AHAM crawl-space dehumidifier with Wi-Fi/app monitoring and setting changes. It has a built-in condensate pump and also supports gravity drainage. The WiFi suffix and exact SKU matter: this is a separate listing from the standard Sentinel HD35PS and from the earlier HD35P WiFi. The extra connected control is valuable only when the installation's network reaches the crawl space and you want to check or adjust a unit you cannot see easily.

This review uses the exact Sentinel HD35PS WiFi page, its page-linked WiFi specification sheet and WiFi manual, plus the current manufacturer collection listing. Its distinct page SKU is RF02ALOS-Sentinel-HD35PS-1YDMW00. The gallery's phone screen is illustrative; it visibly names a different Sentinel app model, so it is not treated as proof of the exact HD35PS WiFi interface. Photo-versus-render status is unknown.

Capacity is still a 35-pint AHAM class

The exact WiFi product page and linked sheet rate it at 35 pints per day under AHAM conditions and 70 pints at saturation. Use 35 when comparing ordinary ratings: the saturation figure uses different conditions and is not a 70-pint AHAM result. AlorAir's up-to-1,000-square-foot claim is a broad application statement, not a moisture-load calculation. A damp crawl space with open soil, leaking plumbing or strong outside-air exchange can need a different approach even if the area is below the advertised figure.

The exact sheet lists 127 CFM airflow, COP 2.47 L/kWh, an MERV-1 filter, R32, 115V/60Hz, 15.2 by 11.2 by 11.4-inch dimensions and a 36.27-pound weight. Its 50-dBA sound-pressure figure is manufacturer-published, not measured independently. The compact shell is easier to fit through a tight opening than a larger cabinet, but leave space for airflow, drainage fittings, electrical access and routine cleaning.

App access is an added convenience, not a drain solution

The exact WiFi page says the user can check humidity and change settings in the companion app. The manufacturer-linked manual identifies the WiFi version and documents the connected setup alongside the local panel. For an inaccessible crawl space, remote checking can save a trip to see the reading. It does not establish that the installation's Wi-Fi signal will penetrate a foundation or metal cabinet, so test reception at the intended appliance location. The source does not document remote pump start/stop as a separate capability; app control must not be stretched into an app-based pump-control guarantee.

AlorAir says the built-in pump can discharge up to 19.6 feet vertically and lists an included pump hose of up to 19.6 feet. Measure lift and hose path independently, and stay within the exact instructions. A second gravity plan sends condensate to a lower outlet through the listed shorter gravity line. Do not combine a pump plan and gravity plan into one imaginary route: choose the mode that matches the site's outlet and maintain the drain. In either mode, continuous drainage avoids day-to-day bucket emptying but the unit still needs line and filter inspection.

Unknowns that should stay unknown

The exact product page and sheet promote ENERGY STAR language, but the specification graphic spells the mark “Ennergy Star.” That typo is not a model-specific certification record. Until a valid exact-model source establishes it, an essential ENERGY STAR condition should exclude this unit. The exact sheet says 25–80% RH, while the page-linked manual describes 35–90% setpoints, so the full humidity-control range remains unresolved. The manual's display/setpoint description also explains a continuous mode rather than proving every lower endpoint shown in the current page material.

Likewise, a 19.6-foot vertical lift does not prove an arbitrary total route, and a phone app does not prove remote pump switching. The product page supports automatic defrost and restart; its claims do not amount to independently measured low-temperature output. Keep these as practical limits, not as reasons to infer performance from a similar HD35P model.

Who should shortlist the WiFi variant?

Consider the HD35PS WiFi when 35 AHAM pints fit the assessed load, an upward pump or lower gravity drain fits the site, and remote status or humidity adjustment has real value. A 35-pint minimum qualifies; 36 does not. If your essential choice is pump lift, the documented 15-foot vertical requirement fits the published limit but 20 feet does not. If app-based pump activation or recognized ENERGY STAR certification is a hard requirement, the exact materials do not confirm it. If app control is unnecessary, compare the standard HD35PS and its distinct SKU rather than treating all the listings as interchangeable.

Before installation, confirm the entry opening, level support, grounded supply, hose route and actual WiFi reach. Keep the filter and drain accessible and follow the manual's power-disconnection and cleaning instructions. This is a compact, continuously draining crawl-space machine with app access—not a bucket-based portable room unit or a set-and-forget substitute for correcting water intrusion.
