A useful fit for

For a crawl space or basement whose assessed water load fits 35 AHAM pints and where a built-in pump or lower gravity outlet is useful.

The main tradeoff

The exact manual and page-linked sheet disagree on the humidity setpoint endpoints. App control is not documented for this standard SKU; do not borrow it from the WiFi listing.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the HD35PS meet a 35-pint AHAM minimum but fail a 36-pint minimum?

Its exact page and sheet give 35 PPD AHAM; the separate 70-PPD saturation figure is not used as the answer.

Can this configuration support a 15-foot pump rise but not a 20-foot rise?

The exact manual/page specify up to 19.6 feet vertically; total hose route is a separate planning limit.

Does the standard HD35PS meet a hard app-control requirement?

The standard SKU's exact page/manual do not establish Wi-Fi; the separate HD35PS WiFi page is a distinct configuration.

The AlorAir Sentinel HD35PS is a compact crawl-space and basement dehumidifier rated at 35 pints per day under AHAM conditions, with a built-in condensate pump and an alternate gravity-drain setup. Its 70-pint saturation figure is a separate, wetter-condition rating. The model is a reasonable candidate when a measured load fits the 35-pint class and the installation benefits from continuous drainage, but it should not be confused with the similarly named WiFi version.

I used the exact Sentinel HD35PS product page, the page-linked HD35PS specification sheet, its installation and operations manual, and AlorAir's current Basement & Crawl Space listing. The page identifies SKU RF02ALOS-Sentinel-HD35PS-0YDMW00. Listed performance is not an independent test, and the official gallery image does not establish whether the product photo is a rendering.

35 AHAM pints is the relevant capacity boundary

The exact page and sheet identify 35 pints per day at 80°F/60% RH (AHAM) and 70 pints at saturation. A 35-pint minimum is met; a 36-pint minimum is not. Do not compare the 70-pint saturation line with another model's AHAM capacity. AlorAir's 1,000-square-foot figure is a marketed application, not a promise that the cabinet can handle every crawl space of that size. Leakage, ground moisture, temperature, soil cover and other water sources change the real workload. Seal and drain the building first when moisture is entering in bulk.

The sheet lists 127 CFM airflow, a COP of 2.47 L/kWh, MERV-1 filtration and R32 refrigerant. It gives 115V/60Hz, dimensions of 15.2 by 11.2 by 11.4 inches and a 36.27-pound weight. AlorAir labels sound pressure at 50 dBA; that is a maker-published figure, not an independent room measurement. Compact dimensions help with access planning, but the weight and hose fittings still require a level surface and service clearance.

Choose one real drainage plan

The exact product page and manual describe a built-in pump as well as a gravity mode. In pump mode, the maker specifies up to 19.6 feet of vertical lift and a 19.6-foot pump line. Those are related but different limits: measure the rise and the full line path, and do not use a short vertical mark as proof that a longer, winding hose run will work. The package and specification table also identify a shorter 6.5-foot gravity line. Gravity drainage needs a continuous fall to an outlet below the unit; the included length is not an invitation to route water uphill or leave a sagging hose.

Either drain plan is a bucketless continuous-drain arrangement, but a drain line is not maintenance-free. The manual describes switching pump and gravity modes from the panel and explains an E4 condition when the pump or line cannot drain properly. Keep the hose outlet visible and preserve access for line, filter and coil service. When the lower outlet is close, gravity can be simpler; a pump is useful only when the measured route requires lift.

Exact operating details have limits

The manual cover and identification page name Sentinel HD35PS. It specifies a grounded 115V supply, a 15-amp circuit protector, level placement and safe handling; its control instructions include the humidity setpoint, continuous mode and grains-per-pound display. The product page and sheet list automatic defrost and restart. The manual also describes filter and coil cleaning and storage, which makes a reachable service side important even in a crawl space.

One source conflict should remain visible rather than guessed away: the current specification sheet gives an adjustable range of 25–80% RH, while the exact manual describes settings from 35–90%. The model's exact lower and upper humidity endpoints therefore are not safe hard-match facts. AlorAir also markets “Energy Star” language on the page, while the specification graphic misspells the certification text as “Ennergy Star.” ETL/cETL safety language is visible, but these materials do not settle recognized ENERGY STAR certification for this exact configuration. Leave that requirement unmatched.

Standard HD35PS or HD35PS WiFi?

The separate Sentinel HD35PS WiFi page and SKU designate another configuration, not a nickname for this standard listing. The standard page and manual do not document app control, so a shopper who requires phone monitoring should select a separately confirmed WiFi suffix. A shopper who does not need the app may prefer not to make connectivity a deciding requirement. Conversely, a 35-pint AHAM minimum does not become a larger capacity because the saturation number reads 70.

Choose the HD35PS when a 35-pint AHAM class is sufficient, a compact cabinet suits the access opening, and one of its documented continuous-drain plans matches the actual site. It is not a fitted-bucket room appliance and it is not established as a central HVAC dehumidifier. If the need exceeds 35 AHAM pints, compare a larger exact model; if phone access is essential, compare the HD35PS WiFi rather than relying on an adjacent product title. The useful questions are the load, the water route and the exact control configuration—not the saturation headline or the square-foot estimate by itself.
