Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
What exact EPA-standardized rating is documented for the CTH150B?
Appendix X1 is 49.43 pints/day; the manual rounds the 65°F/60% value to 50 and the 150-pint label uses 95°F/90% RH.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the CTH150B drain by gravity to a lower outlet?
Yes. Waykar specifies a short gravity hose, and the manual requires a smooth downward route.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the CTH150B have an automatic moving outlet deflector?
Yes. The manual describes an up-and-down moving deflector; the swing feature does not change the exact capacity rating.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a phone app documented for the CTH150B?
No. ENERGY STAR marks this exact model not connected-capable.
Explore this need in the finder →Does a pump or gravity drain prove bucketless use?
No. The CTH150B has no built-in pump, and the manufacturer does not establish operation with the collection tank removed.
Explore this need in the finder →The Waykar CTH150B is the largest standard CTH-B auto-swing model without a built-in pump. Its label reaches 150 pints per day at 95°F/90% RH, while the EPA ENERGY STAR record gives 49.43 pints per day under Appendix X1. That distinction matters at a strict 50-pint standard-condition minimum: the manual rounds its 65°F/60% value to 50, but the exact certified figure is below 50.
This review covers the exact CTH150B selector offer shown on Waykar’s manufacturer product page, not the pump-equipped sibling or a fixed-vent choice. I checked the linked four-model manual and the EPA CTH150B record.
Capacity and energy information
Waykar’s manual lists 50 pints/day at 65°F/60% RH, 75 at 80°F/60% RH, 123 at 80°F/80% RH and 150 at 95°F/90% RH. EPA’s model-specific Appendix X1 number is 49.43. Use that exact value for strict standardized capacity comparisons rather than rounding the manual’s first row up. It supports a 35-pint minimum but does not meet a 50-pint minimum under that definition. A hot, very damp test number should not be presented as a typical basement rate, nor does any rating predict a specific room’s drying time.
The EPA entry lists a 2.20 L/kWh integrated energy factor, 471 kWh annual energy figure and ENERGY STAR Most Efficient designation in the captured record. These program values are useful for comparing certified listings, not a household bill estimate. The manual gives 750 watts rated input at 115 volts/60 Hz. Waykar estimates coverage at up to 7,500 square feet and uses a 220-CFM promotional flow label for this size in the exact gallery. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent verification of performance across separate rooms or a damp, leaky basement.
Large tank, but no pump
The CTH150B’s water tank is 1.9 gallons (7.1 liters), larger than the 1.2-gallon tanks on the CTH80B and CTH120B. It still requires emptying if you use tank collection: the manual describes a full-tank alarm and automatic compressor shutdown until the tank is emptied and replaced correctly. For continuous drainage, Waykar lists a 3.3-foot gravity hose. The manual requires a lower drain, at least 3.94 inches below the drain port, and warns that a kinked or blocked hose can cause water to back up. Plan the placement before buying; the hose must reach a suitable floor drain without a rise or twist.
Despite the “150” capacity tier, the exact CTH150B does not have the family’s built-in pump. It cannot meet a raised-drain requirement, and the reviewed sources do not establish bucketless operation. The pump configuration is the CTH150PB, a separate selector SKU that adds pump hardware and a documented 16.4-foot maximum vertical height. A larger tank on the CTH150B is not a substitute for lift.
Airflow, modes and space
Like the other B-code variants, the CTH150B includes the automatic moving outlet deflector; its manual describes up-and-down swing that can be toggled. It does not change the moisture-removal rating. The manual also lists Dry, Laundry and Sleep modes, high/medium/low fan speeds outside Sleep, a 30%–80% RH target in 5-point steps in Dry mode, a timer up to 24 hours and automatic defrost. Sleep mode defaults to low fan and removes manual fan-speed adjustment.
The manual calls for an operating temperature of 41°F–90°F, a minimum area of 54 square feet and 18 inches of clearance around the appliance. No exact cabinet dimensions, net weight or sound level appear in the reviewed sources. Waykar’s “super quiet” wording is not a measured noise specification, so do not use it to satisfy a decibel limit. The EPA record says Connected Capable: No; app control is not established for this model.
Who should choose it?
Shortlist the CTH150B when you want the family’s highest non-pump configuration, prefer automatic outlet movement and have a tank or lower gravity drain available. It offers materially more standard-condition capacity than the CTH80B and CTH120B, and its 1.9-gallon tank is larger, but there is still no evidence-based reason to promise a particular fill interval. Choose the CTH150PB instead if a built-in pump matters and your required vertical lift does not exceed its documented limit. If a strict 50-pint standard-condition rating is essential, do not round 49.43 up; compare a model whose exact Appendix X1 record clears that threshold. Confirm the full “CTH150B” code at checkout so a fixed-vent or pump variant is not substituted.
