hOmeLabs model comparisons
hOmeLabs HME010088N vs HME010089N: 25 vs 32 pints
HME010088N and HME010089N share a Wi-Fi platform, one-gallon tank, included gravity tube and the same model-listed 25/32-pint use-and-care instructions. The meaningful choice is the published standard-condition capacity and EPA efficiency profile—not the larger hot-and-humid maximum or the square-footage headline.
Compare capacity at the same conditions
HME010088N is the 25-pint product-page listing: 25 pints per day at 80°F/60% RH, with a separate 64-pint maximum at 95°F/90% RH. HME010089N is rated 32 pints at 80°F/60% RH and advertises an 80-pint maximum at 95°F/90% RH. Those maxima use very warm, humid air; do not compare one product’s 64-pint maximum with the other product’s standard rating. Their maker-claimed area figures also differ—3,500 and 4,500 square feet—but neither is a promise for a closed-off, multi-room or unusually damp space.
EPA’s current records use model names HME0088 and HME0089, which match the family codes in the shared manual. They confirm ENERGY STAR certification and show IEF values of 1.75 and 2.01 L/kWh respectively. The pages’ copy says “Most Efficient 2024,” but EPA records do not currently mark either model as Most Efficient. The larger sibling therefore has a stronger published IEF, not a documented current Most Efficient designation or guaranteed lower bill.
Drainage does not distinguish these two
Both listings describe a removable one-gallon tank, full-tank stop and continuous drainage through a one-meter included tube. The manual calls for a correctly fitted tube and level placement, and it requires the bucket to be in place for the appliance to run. It does not provide a pump-lift setup, bucketless mode or a maximum gravity-hose length. A supplied one-meter hose is not a published maximum, so a longer route remains unverified. If the outlet is higher than the unit or a measured rise matters, select a pump model with an exact, model-listed limit instead of guessing from capacity.
Choose by actual load and room setup
Consider the 25-pint HME010088N when its published rating suits the moisture load and you want the same app and maintenance pattern in a lower capacity class. Move to HME010089N when the space warrants a 32-pint rating and the additional published IEF is useful. Both support app adjustments and voice-assistant pairing on 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi. The manual gives a 41°F minimum operating temperature, three fan speed indicators, timer functions and monthly filter care.
Either model can work for someone who can empty the tank or route the supplied tube downhill. Neither is a match for a required pump, a documented bucketless plan, a strict hose-distance ceiling, exact cabinet dimensions or a measured noise threshold. Check the full retail SKU and the manual’s HME0088/HME0089 code when finding exact support material; the manufacturer store uses the longer HME010088N and HME010089N SKU strings.
