Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the complete nameplate identify a Danby DDR4511?
Danby’s exact page identifies DDR4511; CPSC lists that exact model number as 45 pints and includes all units in the recall. Compare the entire nameplate and brand, not a seller’s headline or a similar cabinet.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the DDR4511 published rating make it a suitable used purchase?
No. The 45-pint/day line and conditional 2500-square-foot area claim are descriptive only; CPSC’s recall lists every DDR4511 as affected and instructs owners to stop using it and unplug it.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the DDR4511 be relied on for a pump, gravity drain, or app-based plan?
Those operating capabilities are not established by the exact one-page specification sheet. The linked family manual could not be retrieved from Danby’s direct URL; because the model is recalled, no operating mode should be used in any case.
Explore this need in the finder →Safety reference only. The DDR4511 is the 45-pint Danby entry in this older family, but all DDR4511 units are included in the U.S. CPSC’s Gree dehumidifier recall. Do not use or buy one. If the appliance is yours, turn it off, unplug it and follow the official recall remedy rather than evaluating its advertised capacity as though it were a normal used-product option.
The model code matters more than the cabinet
CPSC lists DDR4511 at 45 pints and marks the date-code range “All units.” Its notice explains that the capacity and brand are printed on the front, while the complete model number and date code appear on a label that can be on the back, front or side. Compare the physical label character by character. DDR45P is separately listed in the same Danby-or-Premiere table; a similar capacity or name is not proof that it is the same product.
That warning is especially important here because the archived DDR4511 page links a front-view image whose source filename says DDR3011. The downloaded bytes are the same as the image linked from the DDR3011 page. The online image looks like the same general white-cabinet design, but neither resemblance nor an exact page’s misplaced gallery asset establishes a 45-pint-specific image. I omit that image rather than presenting a 30-pint-labeled asset as proof of DDR4511 identity. Use the appliance nameplate, not a search-result thumbnail.
Published specifications are historical identifiers, not a reason to operate
Danby’s exact DDR4511 page labels the product discontinued and carries a voluntary-recall notice. The linked one-page specification sheet lists 45 pints per 24 hours, three fan speeds, adjustable humidity settings, electronic controls, an automatic de-icer, a removable air filter and R-410A refrigerant. Danby gives a conditional “up to 2,500 square feet” area claim. The listed cabinet is 13 3/8 inches wide, 10 1/4 inches deep and 19 1/2 inches high—the same dimensions published for DDR3011, despite the different capacity rating.
Those details are useful for distinguishing what Danby published for each SKU. They are not a safe sizing recommendation, a test result for your room, or evidence that a used machine functions. The specification sheet also uses “Energy Star compliant” wording; this review does not treat that line as a current certification verification. Most importantly, capacity and apparent feature richness do not cancel the recall.
Operating details remain unresolved
The product page links to a family guide labeled DDR3011/4511/6511, but a direct request for its PDF returned not found. Because the actual manual pages are unavailable in the saved source set, this review does not assert the exact DDR4511’s tank size, whether it requires the tank in gravity-drain mode, which hose is supplied, whether it has a pump, or any humidity/temperature limits. Do not import those features from a sibling’s later manual or a general Danby FAQ. Even a recovered manual would not make a recalled unit a recommendation.
A visual page that advertises a 45-pint DDR4511 and an image file named DDR3011 has a real source conflict. The image record is kept as evidence, but no product photo is displayed as an exact 4511 view. This avoids creating confidence from a picture that cannot settle the model or capacity. A seller should be able to provide a clear label photo; without it, do not assume the listing is this model—or that it is outside the recall.
Use the recall source, not a shopping comparison
CPSC describes overheating, smoke, fire and burn hazards for this recalled Gree-made family, and directs consumers to stop using affected appliances, turn them off and unplug them, then contact the recall service provider for a refund. The CPSC page gives the current claim route. Do not plug in a unit to check whether it cools, test its drain, or leave it operating while waiting for support.
If you need a dehumidifier, select a different model after reviewing its exact listing, safety notices and own manual. The DDR4511 is retained here only for an owner checking an existing appliance, understanding why a used listing should be avoided, and distinguishing its model code from related Danby/Premiere products.
Sources and limits
Sources are Danby’s exact DDR4511 product page and its linked specification sheet, the exact-page-linked image candidate (not accepted as an exact-model visual), and the U.S. CPSC recall listing. No complete manual was available from the direct family-manual link; drainage, bucket and app claims are therefore left unknown.
