A useful fit for

A 35-pint/day Smart Access model for a room where a lower gravity drain or the removable tank is practical, with floor space for its 18.5-inch listed width.

The main tradeoff

It has no lift pump and the family manual does not establish tank-free operation. The separately specified gravity hose, tank access and routine filter/tank cleaning still need space.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the 35-pint version meet a 35-pint/day minimum on a lower gravity route?

Yes. Midea lists 35 pints/day and the family manual documents continuous gravity drainage to a lower outlet with the tank installed.

Does its 33.73-pound dry weight fit a 34-pound handling limit?

Yes, the manufacturer’s listed product weight is 33.73 lb; water in the tank adds carrying weight.

Does the manufacturer confirm an upward pump route for this exact model?

No. This exact product page lists no built-in pump. For a raised outlet, compare only models with a documented pump and verify their separate manual limits.

MAD35S1AWWT is Midea’s white 35-pint/day Smart Access dehumidifier with app and voice-assistant support, a side-access tank and no built-in pump. It occupies the middle of this family by rated daily removal, but not by drainage: gravity can carry water to a lower outlet, while an above-unit outlet requires a different model. Keep the tank installed in normal use; this manual does not document bucketless operation.

What a 35-pint rating does—and does not—say

Midea lists 35 pints/day and advertises spaces up to 3,500 square feet. The area figure is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee for every room of that size. A cool basement, open windows or ongoing moisture entry can change the workload. Use the daily rating to compare it with the 22-pint MAD22S1AWWT and 50-pint MAD50PS1AWBL, not as a promised extraction rate.

Published dimensions are 8.86 inches deep, 18.5 inches wide and 15.94 inches high, with a listed dry product weight of 33.73 pounds. The wide body is a notable fit issue: the manufacturer's model-specific drawing shows an 18.5-inch width and about 8.9-inch depth. Check that span against the space around the unit, remembering that the manual also asks for air clearance and access to the side tank. At 33.73 pounds, it is 2.89 pounds heavier than the 22-pint Smart Access, before adding collected water. The four casters are for moving it across suitable flooring; Midea warns against forcing the casters across carpet and moving it with water in the tank.

Gravity drainage still needs gravity

The basic collection route is the removable side-access tank. When full, the unit stops and needs the tank emptied and seated correctly. If you want less bucket-emptying, Midea’s manual describes continuous drainage through a separate water hose to a floor drain or other suitable facility. The hose must be below the appliance drain outlet, secure against leaks and free of kinks. The manual specifies a female-threaded hose, which it says is not included.

The exact product page lists no pump, so this unit cannot send condensate up to a sink or window. The black MAD50PS1AWBL is the Smart Access pump option; its manual gives a 5-metre maximum rise and distance. The Cube MAD50PS1QWT-A has a different manual and lift limit. Check the exact model rather than assuming one Midea specification fits all.

The Smart Access manual says the unit stops when its tank is removed or mispositioned; it does not document bucketless gravity operation. Some Cube models do have a separate bucketless arrangement, but that mode does not transfer to MAD35S1AWWT.

Settings, timer and SmartHome access

Midea lists four modes, two fan speeds and a 24-hour timer, with SmartHome app and voice support. The manual describes a 35–85% Set target, Continuous operation, optional Comfort control in a 45–55% range, and optional Dryer mode. Dryer uses continuous dehumidification at high fan speed, but thick clothes may not dry effectively; it is not a clothes-dryer substitute. Network issues can interrupt app setup or synchronization, so keep the physical controls in mind.

How the 22- and 50-pint choices differ

Compared with MAD22S1AWWT, this model adds 13 pints/day of published rating, while asking for 2.56 inches more width and 2.89 pounds more dry weight. It is a good middle choice only if that rated-capacity step matters to your room; it does not gain the pump feature. The 50-pint MAD50PS1AWBL is the clear choice within this Smart Access group when a pump is essential and the manual’s measured route fits. That model is black and heavier at 41.89 pounds. If the 50-pint rating matters but you only have a lower outlet, consider whether the pump adds useful value or whether a no-pump configuration is a better comparison.

The Cube MAD20S1QWT has a slightly lower 20-pint/day listing, but its current guide documents nesting for storage and bucketless gravity drainage. Those differences may outweigh the two-pint rating gap for someone who stores a unit seasonally or needs a tank-free downhill setup.

Installation and maintenance are part of the choice

Midea gives this family a working range of 41–90°F and 30–80% relative humidity. Place the appliance on a level surface strong enough for the unit and a full tank; allow at least 8 inches around it and 16 inches at the outlet. Keep doors and windows closed while dehumidifying an enclosed room, and allow enough room beside the appliance to withdraw the tank. The manual recommends running continuously for the first 24 hours and waiting about three minutes before restarting after a quick shutdown.

Maintenance is practical but recurring: clean the air filter every two weeks, clean the tank every few weeks and keep the airflow grilles clear. A gravity hose removes the routine of lifting a full tank but does not clean the filter or eliminate hose inspections. The manual also tells users not to connect the unit through an extension cord or a shared multi-socket outlet. Check the grounded outlet and the placement instructions before choosing a permanent spot.

Consider MAD35S1AWWT when a 35-pint/day rating is useful, its broad 18.5-inch footprint fits and the bucket or downhill gravity route is workable. Reject it when the drain must rise, the unit must operate without its tank, or a hard weight limit is under 33.73 pounds. The 3,500-square-foot marketing claim cannot settle those installation questions.
