A useful fit for

Current U.S. Ultra Series fixed whole-home ventilating model, part 4046180, with a 205-pint/day warm-condition manufacturer rating, optional 8-inch outside-air path and exact EPA certification. Use only when a duct/airflow plan, 15A circuit, suitable gravity drain and equipment access fit the building; the 5,000-sq-ft line is not a load calculation.

The main tradeoff

Highest-capacity option among the currently reviewed V-series parts, but it is a 148-pound cabinet requiring professional duct/electrical planning, a lower trapped drain and regular MERV-13 filter service. No bucket, built-in pump, app connection or published lift height. Exact EPA vs manual performance and several dimensions/drain/filter limits remain source conflicts.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does a fixed whole-home model meet the 205-pint warm-condition rating?

Santa Fe rates exact part 4046180 at 205 pints/day at 80°F/60% RH; a 206-pint essential minimum exceeds that listed rating. Actual removal depends on conditions and system design.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can it drain without a bucket when the pipe can fall to a lower floor drain?

The manual documents a trapped, downward gravity drain. It has no tank or integral pump; one drain-pitch specification is internally inconsistent and needs installer confirmation.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does it offer fixed HVAC ducting and optional outdoor air together?

The exact V205 manual has a fixed duct/HVAC plan and an optional 8-inch outdoor-air inlet. Airflow and building ventilation must still be designed.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can the exact EPA certification and IEF satisfy an advanced minimum?

EPA’s exact 4046180 record reports ENERGY STAR and IEF 3.12 L/kWh. This is separate from the manufacturer Energy Factor and from the manual’s conflicting registration table.

Is app control essential to your shortlist?

No. The exact EPA record says Connected Capable: No; onboard and 24V wired controls are documented instead. Selecting app control as essential should send you to a different model.

Does its 148-pound product weight fit a 148-pound maximum?

The exact TS-2116 sheet lists 148 pounds. This threshold is for delivery planning only, not a lifting-safety recommendation.

Santa Fe’s Ultra V205 (part 4046180) is a fixed, ducted whole-home unit—not a big portable dehumidifier. Its TS-2116 sheet rates it at 205 pints/day at 80°F/60% RH and 173 at 73°F/60% RH. It pairs that capacity with 10-inch HVAC connections and an optional 8-inch outdoor-air inlet. The exact EPA record uses another test method: 172.13 pints/day and IEF 3.12 L/kWh.

Sources: Santa Fe’s Ultra V205 page, the model-specific TS-2116 data sheet and TS-2125 Rev C manual, plus the EPA’s exact 4046180 ENERGY STAR record. Each capacity and efficiency figure is kept beside its test method; these are not independent room-performance measurements.

Keep the test methods attached to the capacity

TS-2116 lists 205 pints/day at 80°F/60% RH and 173 at 73°F/60% RH. Its corresponding manufacturer efficiency figures are 7.5 and 6.3 pints/kWh. The product page rounds the cooler-point capacity to 172, while the TS-2125 manual registration table lists 167 pints/day and IEF 2.97 for part 4046180. EPA’s current exact-model record reports 172.13 pints/day under Appendix X1 and IEF 3.12 L/kWh. These are method/source differences, not values to average: Santa Fe’s “Energy Factor” is not EPA IEF. EPA confirms U.S. ENERGY STAR certification and “Most Efficient”; its Connected Capable field is “No.”

“Up to 5,000 square feet” is Santa Fe guidance based on a 10-foot ceiling, not a load calculation or proof that each room gets dry air. Output changes with inlet conditions, duct resistance and run time. Ask an HVAC contractor to size the moisture load before treating the V205’s capacity as a safer default. V100, V125, V155 or Ultra98 may be more proportionate if the calculated need is lower.

The duct plan is the main installation decision

The V205 is fixed whole-home equipment. The recommended manual layout uses a central 10-inch return and directs the 10-inch supply into the HVAC supply through a backdraft damper. Do not use a bathroom, kitchen or closed-off room as the return. Blower ratings are 550 CFM at zero static, 515 at 0.2, 470 at 0.4 and 430 at 0.6 inches water column; however, the manual says not to connect at or above 0.5 inch. The listed 0.6 test point is not permission to design at that pressure. Have duct sizing, branches, grilles and service clearance checked as one system.

An 8-inch outdoor-air inlet is optional, not a ventilation plan by itself. The data sheet lists up to 215 CFM at zero static; flow falls as resistance rises. The manual calls for a household ventilation calculation and compliant damper/control design. A home without forced-air ducts still needs fixed supply branches to distribute treated air. This is unlike a plug-in unit you can roll between rooms.

Measure the installation and electrical path

The listed cabinet is 26.75 inches wide by 20.75 high by 38 deep and weighs 148 pounds. TS-2116 says dimensions and weight include the collars, while the product page labels its dimensions “without collars.” Measure delivery, duct and service clearance with the installer rather than framing from either label. The manual says the machine is fixed in place, not for seasonal relocation. It comes with a 10-foot grounded cord; its specification calls for a dedicated 15-amp circuit. Power is listed at 1,115 watts at 73°F/60% RH. The manual’s upper operating limit is 104°F; the product page lists 105°F. Use the installation manual for planning and ask Santa Fe or the installer to resolve the exact limit.

Gravity drain is standard; pump lift is not

The base V205 has no bucket and no built-in lift pump. Its normal path is a trapped, downward-sloping 3/4-inch drain; the manual places the outlet at least 6.75 inches above the floor-drain arrangement. Above a finished area it calls for a secondary pan and float-switch protection. The manual gives two different drain pitches—1 inch per 10 feet in one instruction and 1/4 inch per foot in the diagram—so have the installer settle that discrepancy instead of assuming one figure is final.

A separate condensate-pump kit is available if the drain must rise, but the reviewed V205 materials state no maximum pump lift and the kit is not included. Do not answer an essential numeric pump-rise request “yes” based on the accessory listing. Choose a configuration with a documented limit or have the exact kit/route verified before purchase.

Controls and filter care remain part of ownership

Onboard digital humidity controls are included. The low-voltage terminal block can accept an external 24-volt controller; DEH 3000/3000R is optional. With EPA’s exact record saying Connected Capable: No, this model should not pass an app-control-essential request. The manual includes a MERV-13 filter and recommends checking/replacing it every three to six months. The page lists filter part 4037724 and dimensions, but TS-2125 identifies the included filter as 4042787. Confirm the replacement SKU before ordering; the MERV-13 grade is clearer than that part-number bridge. The reviewed material gives no dBA rating, so don’t infer quiet operation from its cabinet or airflow figures.

Who should shortlist it

Consider the V205 when an installer’s load calculation supports this capacity, the building can accept fixed ducting, a gravity drain is available, and delivery/service can handle a 148-pound cabinet. Optional ventilation is useful only when deliberately designed. The current EPA certification is an exact-part comparison, but neither the 2025 image badge nor annual-use figure predicts your bill. If you need a bucket, integral pump, app operation or a light, movable machine, this is the wrong configuration. Compare smaller V-series units for a lower load, or a portable model whose manual matches your actual drain route.
