hOmeLabs model comparisons

hOmeLabs 25, 40 and 50-pint options: pump and control tradeoffs

hOmeLabs has a 25-pint Wi-Fi model, a distinct 40-pint unit with a measured pump route, and a 50-pint Wi-Fi model with a pump whose exact limits are not established in the reviewed instructions. The useful choice is not just capacity: decide whether you need remote settings or an upward water route that the exact manual explains.

25 pints: app control and downhill drainage

The HME010088N is the smaller 25-pint Wi-Fi configuration. Its exact model materials document a fitted bucket and continuous gravity drainage; they do not establish a lift pump. It suits a lower published capacity threshold when app adjustments matter and a bucket or lower drain outlet can work. A smart feature cannot turn gravity into a pump.

40 pints: the clearest pump boundary in this group

The HME021005N is rated at 40 pints/day at 80°F/60% RH, with a separate 104-pint maximum at 95°F/90% RH. Its shared 40/50-pint manual names this exact SKU and specifies a pump hose limited to 16.4 feet and an approximate maximum rise of 16.4 feet. The bucket must stay seated. This is the one to examine when a measured pump route matters more than a higher pint class or verified app control. Leave room below its approximate limits rather than designing at the ceiling.

50 pints: more rated removal, but check the route

The HME031004N is a 50-pint Wi-Fi model whose exact page identifies a built-in pump. The available exact-code instructions do not confirm maximum lift or total hose reach, so a strict measured pump requirement should not pass just because the page says “pump.” It can still be worth comparing if the higher standard-condition rating and app are the priorities and your drainage arrangement does not depend on a documented vertical limit.

Compare the rated conditions, then measure the room’s water route

The 25-, 40- and 50-pint figures are the respective standard-condition ratings, not guaranteed daily extraction in every basement. Hot, humid maximum figures use different conditions and do not replace those ratings. The area claims are marketing guidance rather than room tests. Check whether doors separate the damp areas, where water can drain, and how much route margin you need. If Energy Star or Wi-Fi is essential, verify it on the exact SKU: HME021005N’s current certification and app capability remain unconfirmed in the materials reviewed here.

In brief: start with HME010088N for a smaller Wi-Fi choice and lower gravity drain; choose HME021005N when 40 pints is sufficient and a documented pump rise matters; compare HME031004N for 50 pints and documented Wi-Fi, but do not assume its pump shares the 40-pint model’s 16.4-foot limits. These models have separate manuals and fit decisions—do not transfer a route specification across the brand.
