Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does HEN70ETFP fit an essential 70-pint pump route?
It has a pump and included 16-foot tube, but no numeric pump lift is published and the model is held out because of a serial-specific recall.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its 16-foot supplied tube prove a 1-foot pump lift limit?
No. Tube length is not the pump height rating; the maximum lift remains unknown and the recall block remains.
Explore this need in the finder →Can HEN70ETFP be recommended because a pump is an essential need?
No. Haier/CPSC list the exact model with serial-specific recall scope; it is conservatively blocked from buying results.
Explore this need in the finder →Safety notice: Haier and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission list HEN70ETFP among recalled Haier dehumidifiers because affected units can overheat and catch fire. The CPSC notice gives serial-number ranges for this model, so the model name alone does not determine whether a particular unit qualifies for the remedy. Before operating, check the rating-label serial number against the official notice. If the serial is within a recalled range, stop using the dehumidifier, unplug it and register for the refund; do not keep running it to test the pump. This exact model is excluded from buying matches.
Exact product and operating evidence: Haier’s HEN70ETFP page, its model-specific support page, its model-cover Installation and User Manual, Haier’s recall notice and the CPSC announcement.
Do not confuse the model with a safe buying recommendation
The exact Haier and CPSC recall lists name HEN70ETFP and identify a 70-pint class unit. Haier says the affected products were manufactured from 2009 through August 31, 2017 and asks owners of recalled units to check the serial label, stop use, unplug and apply for a refund. The CPSC announcement names the same model and provides serial ranges. Haier’s later exact HEN70ETFP support record separately shows a March 2018–January 2020 manufacturing interval, creating a source conflict about this model code’s history. Do not infer that every HEN70ETFP unit has identical status: the official recall remedy is serial-specific. Do not infer the reverse either. Until the unit’s own serial is checked, treat the model as unsafe to operate and out of any purchase recommendation.
The product page describes a 70-pint/day dehumidifier with an 18-pint tank, two fan speeds, automatic defrost, 24-hour timer, automatic shutoff and a built-in drain pump. The listed body is 24 × 15.12 × 10¾ inches and 45 pounds net; electrical figures are 820 watts, 7.5 amps and 115 volts. Its companion HEN70ETF shares the rating and general cabinet but lacks the pump. These product features explain why the pump suffix can be mistaken for a useful alternative; they do not override the recall warning, and a similar cabinet image does not identify the serial number.
What the pump setup does—and what remains unknown
For owner identification only, the exact HEN70ETFP manual documents three arrangements: a fitted water bucket, gravity drainage using a separately purchased garden hose to a lower drain, and the built-in pump with its supplied 16-foot (4.9 m) drain tube. The pump hose attaches to a separate rear connector; the manual says the bucket must remain inserted for operation. The instructions describe pumping to a drain that may be above the appliance, but they do not give a maximum vertical lift. Therefore no number of feet can be promised: an essential maximum-lift requirement is unknown and cannot be treated as satisfied.
The 16-foot figure is the supplied tube length, not a published pump-lift rating. It does not tell an owner whether a particular route’s height, bends and total distance are supported. The manual’s installation pages show the pump connector and fitting; the official product image does not show the internal pump or identify its limits. Do not transfer HEN70ETF’s gravity-only setup to this model, and do not assume a pump permits bucketless use. Even a technically suitable route is irrelevant until the recall serial is checked and the safety remedy followed.
How an owner should identify an affected unit
Read the full model and serial from the rear rating label, then use the linked Haier or CPSC recall notice to compare the complete serial string with the included ranges. If it matches, the manufacturer’s direction is to stop using it immediately, unplug it and register for a refund through the New Widetech recall process or contact its listed hotline. Keep the complete label information available. Do not rely on a sales receipt, approximate production year or a photograph of the cabinet; those are not a substitute for the serial list. For HEN70ETFP-E, HM50EP and HM70EP, the recall list names separate exact model strings; a shared brand or capacity does not make them the same model.
Why this page is retained
This page helps an owner distinguish the exact pump-equipped HEN70ETFP from the no-pump HEN70ETF and recognize why serial-level recall checking matters. It is not a product recommendation. Haier’s page says the model is no longer manufactured, and a particular used or clearance listing gives no assurance about its serial, condition, warranty or safety. The recall flag is deliberately conservative at the model level: the matcher suppresses HEN70ETFP even when a visitor asks for a 70-pint pump, because the site cannot verify the individual serial number. That is safer than displaying it as a normal product result.
For a currently eligible unit, use the dehumidifier finder and require a documented pump plan if water must go uphill. The earlier HEN70ETF is a separate gravity-only reference and is also discontinued. Do not buy a recalled listing or rely on its 70-pint label to resolve dampness; verify current model availability, drain height and serial-specific safety information before choosing another appliance.
