GE ADHE Smart Dry: separate the exact suffixes

The ADHE series looks like one family because the five reviewed units share a white cabinet, digital controls, Smart Dry, a washable rear filter and a closely related control system. The suffix still changes what the appliance can do. GE’s exact pages list 25-, 35- and 50-pint/day capacities, different tank and cabinet sizes, one built-in pump configuration, and one Wi-Fi-listed 50-pint version. The detailed reviews use each exact label rather than treating similar housings as interchangeable.

Separate rating, tank size, and cabinet footprint

ADHE25BWF and ADHE35BWF are the shorter models: both measure 19.4 × 13.2 × 9.9 inches and use an 8.5-pint bucket. The 25-pint model weighs 33 pounds; the 35-pint model weighs 36 pounds and has higher published airflow. ADHE50BWF, ADHE50WWF and ADHE50PWF are listed at 50 pints/day with 15-pint buckets and 24.1 × 14.4 × 11.4-inch bodies. The BWF and WWF weigh 41.1 pounds; PWF weighs 44 pounds.

A higher daily rating does not mean the bucket can hold a day of water. Even the larger 15-pint tank is less than one-third of a 50-pint/day rating, so bucket collection can still interrupt operation frequently in damp conditions. All five share a 1.6 L/kWh integrated energy factor in their exact specification rows; this standardized rating is not a household bill forecast. The 25/35-pint body may fit tighter spaces, but the manual still requires 18 inches of open clearance on each side and room for the top outlet and front bucket.

Only one exact 50-pint suffix lists a pump

The manual documents bucket and gravity-hose drainage for the family. A garden hose is not supplied, must slope downhill to a lower drain, and does not remove the need for the fitted bucket. Only ADHE50PWF’s exact page lists a built-in pump and says its included hose supports a maximum 16-foot lift. The manual requires a fully seated bucket while pumping and says to activate pump mode before relying on the hose. The 16-foot figure is a vertical-lift limit, not an unlimited total hose route. A raised drain is not established for ADHE25BWF, ADHE35BWF, ADHE50BWF or ADHE50WWF.

Smart Dry is not proof of pump or app capability. It is an automatic fan setting that adjusts the fan speed in response to room humidity. The three manual speeds remain High, Medium and Low. The exact ADHE50WWF page, and only that page in this group, lists built-in Wi-Fi. That connection does not change its gravity-only water route. The BWF page does not list Wi-Fi Connect; the PWF page documents the pump but not an app connection. Do not transfer either feature by model family resemblance.

Household setup and maintenance

GE’s 49-5001090 Rev. 1 manual specifies a 35%–80% RH target in five-point steps or Nonstop operation, a ±5% humidity-display accuracy, auto restart, automatic defrost, a 24-hour on/off timer and a filter reminder after 250 hours. Keep the unit indoors between 41°F and 90°F, close outside openings, and allow air circulation into an adjacent closet or storage area. The rear washable filter should be cleaned at least every 250 operating hours and returned dry; the bucket should be cleaned every few weeks. The 25/35 models require their included casters to be installed before first use, then the unit should stand upright for an hour before it is plugged in.

When the family pages are references, not new-buy picks

Each exact product page currently labels the corresponding model no longer manufactured and out of stock online. The support pages retain a May 2025–Present manufacture-date line, which conflicts with that product-page statement. The reviews therefore keep these exact identities in the earlier-model library and do not present current retail availability as established. That conservative status also avoids transferring the support-page wording into a new-purchase claim. If comparing an earlier or specific clearance/used listing, match the full model suffix and check the actual bucket, filter, included pump hose (PWF only), condition and seller terms.
