Model comparison
Midea EasyDry 22 vs 35 pints: size, controls and drainage
Model comparison
MAD22C1AWS and MAD35C1AWS are both white EasyDry compressors with a fitted tank, wheels, timer, gravity-hose option and no listed pump or Smart Control. Their useful differences are the rated capacity and the physical body—not a different drain mechanism.
What the higher rating changes
Midea lists 22 pints/day for MAD22C1AWS and 35 pints/day for MAD35C1AWS. That is a meaningful rating step, but it does not promise that one room will be dry at a particular time. Temperature, humidity, air exchange and ongoing water entry change the demand. Midea lists up to 1,500 square feet on the 22-pint page. The 35-pint page headline says 3,500 square feet while its specification table says 3,000; neither area statement is treated here as a performance guarantee.
If the lower rating is sufficient, the 22-pint body is shorter and lighter. The US listing gives it 32.41 lb and 19.69 inches high. The 35-pint model is listed at 40.57 lb and 24.25 inches high. The exact-model dimensions graphics round their widths and depths to 15.2 × 10.3 inches for the 22-pint model and 15.5 × 11.1 inches for the 35-pint model. Check the actual height with any shelf, stairs or doorway; leave clearance above the exhaust as well as a route to remove and clean the tank.
Both depend on the same practical water route
Each page lists no built-in pump. The C1AWS family manual permits bucket collection or a continuous hose to a lower outlet. With the bucket plan, seat the tank correctly and empty it when full. The manual says the unit will not operate if the tank is removed or mispositioned. Neither model has a documented bucketless mode.
The gravity plan still requires a downhill hose. The shared manual specifies a 5/16-inch inside diameter hose and female threaded end, and says some models include the adapter; it does not identify which bundle belongs to each of these exact products. Verify fittings with Midea before relying on them. Keep the hose lower than the drain outlet and free of kinks. A raised laundry sink or window outlet is not supported by either model’s built-in features. If lifting condensate is essential, compare the pump-equipped Smart Access MAD50PS1AWBL or Cube MAD50PS1QWT-A and observe that each has a different documented limit.
Do not assume EasyDry app control
Midea’s US specs say Smart Control: No for both C1AWS products, although the manual shared with other C1AWS/P1AWS variants includes optional wireless and app material. The manual also warns that actual control panels vary and some functions may be absent. For choosing MAD22C1AWS or MAD35C1AWS, use the model-specific page’s timer and no-smart-control specification; do not carry optional family instructions over as guaranteed features.
By contrast, Smart Access MAD35S1AWWT is a 35-pint connected alternative with listed app and voice support, a 33.73-pound weight and a shorter 15.94-inch height, although it is wider. It also has no pump. The C1AWS 35-pint body is narrower at 15.43 inches wide but taller, heavier and without listed smart controls. Compare actual placement, not the product-line label.
Set up and maintain the model you choose
The common C1AWS manual gives an operating environment of 41–90°F and 30–80% relative humidity, calls for a level indoor floor, at least 8 inches of surrounding clearance and 16 inches at the air outlet. It advises filter cleaning every two weeks and tank cleaning every few weeks. A gravity drain reduces bucket emptying but does not eliminate filter and tank care. No exact tank-volume number or independent noise measurement was available for these two US listings.
- Consider MAD22C1AWS when its 22-pint rating and shorter, lighter body fit and a tank or lower drain is workable.
- Consider MAD35C1AWS when the 35-pint rating matters and its 24.25-inch body and 40.57-pound dry weight suit the site.
- Compare MAD35S1AWWT when app control is useful and its wider, lower cabinet fits; it still cannot pump upward.
